Uncle Bob Harley is fighting cancer and was recently in the hospital. He is now home with Hospice support. Please pray for his healing.

Fletcher Update

This request was originally passed through the prayer chain, but due to the length of this update I thought it would be better to post it on our site. To recap, he is a 5 yr. old little boy with autism who was found unresponsive in a pond. Here is the latest update:

They are still trying to wean him off the vent. They said Autism is really hindering the process. Due to the autism his metabolism is twice to three times that of a non-autistic child so they are having to give him way more meds to sedate than they normally would. So in turn the meds are affecting his ability to breathe on his own over the vent. His lungs seem to be improving slightly each day which is good and his heart and brain look good. They are hoping to get him off the vent by the weekend. He keeps biting the tube so they are going to put the tube in his nose. He is very agitated. They have a feeding tube in one side of his nose and will now have a tube to the vent in the other, plus they are going to have to leave the tube in his mouth so they don’t have to re-intubate.

Asking for more Prayers from my Church Family. My sister called yesterday wanting me to take her for her liver cancer treatment. When I picked her up she said her Doctor called her and wanted her to go straight to his office.The doctor told her she has more cancer on her liver and she has less than a year to live.Please Pray for Mel, Audrey and Denise.Thanks and God Bless!

Dear Brothers and Sisters at Victory,
It is with great joy and hearts overflowing with thanks to God for an answer to prayer concerning Isaac. As you know, Isaac has lived 17 years as non-verbal and diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. On May 2nd during our worship service, Isaac was being kept occupied with a dry erase book of tracing dotted letters and numbers. On a whim of curiosity, I began to give him patterns with numbers (counting by 10's, 5's, 3's, etc.). He was able to supply the missing numbers that occurred in various locations in the sequence of numbers. This so intrigued me that I began giving him random multiplication facts which he could find the answer, as well as a missing factor. Scott and I just looked at each other across the top of his head totally dumbfounded. Later that afternoon, I thought I'd try words. I asked him to write...Daddy, Noah, Luke, Grandmom, Grandpop...he wrote them all and spelled them all correctly! Scott asked Isaac who I was and he wrote 'mom'. What began as just a word here or there has blossomed into him writing phrases and simple sentences. He answers our verbal questions, as well as written questions...yes, this dear boy can READ!!! He wrote his address, which no one has ever taught him! Perhaps, the most wonderful questions and responses have been these: Who died on the cross? Answer: Jesus; Why did he die? Answer: sin; Did he die for you? Answer: Yes; Do you sin? Answer: Yes; What is sin? Answer: Bad; Where will you go when you die? Answer: Heaven; Are you a Christian? Answer: Yes, I am. Yes, I am. His favorite church song is Jesus Saves. He knows my favorite hymn...The Lily of the Valley. Just last night I wrote out John 3:16 with blanks for him to fill in the missing words....I thought this may be a long shot, but God is AMAZING! Isaac filled in the missing key words from the verse. So, we wanted to share this fabulous news on the progress that Isaac is making and that finally he has a way to break free from the bondage of silence. Everyday our minds are astounded at the information that he knows and our hearts overflow with joy at being able to communicate with him. The verse that immediately came to my mind as these events have occurred in the past month is Ephesians 3:20-21..."Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout the ages, world without end."
